About Us:

I am retired and 79 years old with a lot of time on my hands.
Since retiring from the Federal Government Public Service
in 2005 I have been developing my skills in webpage designing,
songwriting, home recording and a few other things.

RiverEdge Studio is where I post information on what I do at our home such as:
Recording music, editing my website and editing material that I am writing.
I have two or three stories in the works.
RiverEdge Songs is the page I use for my music. I have over two hundred songs recorded
of which about forty-seven I have written myself.

I have collected extensive genealogical information on my Kelsey family and will
share with anyone that may be interested in this subject.
I have completed some home renovations along the way as well.
Remodeled the original bathroom and built a new one in the basement,
new floors in the livingroom and basement and currently replacing carpet on the covered deck.
I am writing this update in February 2023.
Every summer we do some painting and plant garlic, tomatoes, onions and potatoes.

Some of my interests are shown on the menu and if you want
to know more about what I like to do,
just email me at the posted address below.

I have finished updating my songbook, December 2016.
I have combined both old songbooks into one new one which should be easier to access.

In the winter of 2016 between myself, Debbie and a friend, Doug Stewart,
we built a new basement stairs and removed the old one and closed the opening.
This required us to make some changes to the partitions in the basement.
Our well is in the basement, a three foot concrete culvert.
It has never had a proper cover and so while working at the other changes
to the walls, I built a good cover over the well.
In December 2016 we completed another project.
We inherited some kitchen cabinets and we renovated the storage room
utilizing the cabinets as storage units.
Another chore, the new floor in the kitchen has been completed.
This covers up the repair of the removal of the stairs.
In the spring of 2017 Doug came back and helped with remodeling some of the
kitchen cabinets to allow the installation of a much needed exhaust fan.
Debbie refinished all of the remaining cabinets and we installed new hardware.
That fall I installed a new propane heater in the living room.
Since fall and winter I have done nothing but relax with the dog by the fire.
Oh yes, in the winter of 2019 there was a small renovation for our friends that live nearby.
We took out their bathtub, vanity and toilet and replaced all of that. Then we replaced the
wall panelling with drywall, rejiged the plumbing and added new mouldings.
Then painted everything.
In the winter of 2019-2020 about the only thing I have done is a project
I have put off for a long time. Years ago a friend gave me an old fiddle with all the parts
stripped off and in rough shape all around. I removed the finish and did a french polish.
Rehaired the bow and put new tuners, bridge, tailpiece, end pin, saddle and strings.

Then Covid-19 hit us and we stayed home for the most part. I continued to do a few
more repairs to instruments.
As of February 2023 I have restored fourteen fiddles, seven guitars and a mandolin.
